Fundraiser

Our staff at the Poole & Wimborne woodland burial ground have raised over £1,200 to help local children.

Funeral Director Dawn Jones and Funeral Arranger Rory Craig from Poole and Wimborne Woodland Burial Ground raised the funds during a week of activity at Poole shopping mall, The Dolphin Centre.

A grand total of £1,208.70 was raised which will be donated to the Children's Community Nursing Team at Poole General Hospital.

Over three months Dawn and Rory managed to get 36 prizes from various companies for a raffle including The Co-operative Food, Hall and Woodhouse Brewey in Poole, Farmer Palmers in Poole and many more

The raffle prizes included a signed Arsenal Team Photo, tickets to watch a match at Paulton Park and vouchers for restaurant meals.

Over the week the team held multiple raffles, handed out literature, displayed some of the equipment used by the nursing team and showed a film which illustrated their work.

Dawn said: “Helen Parker from Poole General Hospital made contact after visiting our grounds and I went to visit the children's ward with my manager Jonathan Rickman. It was an eye-opening experience and we were determined to do something to help them. Spending a week in the Dolphin Centre has helped us to raise a fantastic amount of money but has also raised awareness of the Children’s Community Nursing Team.”
